Sylvania Metalarc M59R bulb and pendant enclosure with super large reflextor. 23 inches long by 18 inches wide by 8 inches tall. Neat ... Nice and compact given the size of the bulb. How is heat being handled?

I would not use a 4000K bulb over my tank. the lowest K rating on a bulb that I would use would be an Iwasaki and that's 6500K. I would not use that bulb.

It seems like it should work well. The fans should keep it nice and cool. I would highly recomend that you got a different bulb. If you are looking for crazy growth then go with a 6500K bulb or a 10,000K bulb. It just depends if you like yellow or not.

I personally like the look of 10K with actinics, but that's just me. If I was not going to use actinics I would use a 14K bulb. IMO 20K is just too blue.
