    Adding sand

    Hi there,

Just pour sand into my 70g tank...
It has been few hours since then.. and the tank water is still blurry as in the pic...
Is that normal? How long does it take for the water to be clear? Should I turn the filter on ??

    Howdy fellow Hallagonian.

It's normal and can take several days depending on your circulation. If you turn on the filter it will clear faster but your filter will be full of silt. If you have no live rock in there I'd just let it sit with no filter or circulation until it clears.

Did you rinse your sand first?

    Hi xman,

Yes I did rinse it... That's what AndrewNS suggested to me. But is that needed for dust-free sand? Anyway, I just rinsed for 3 or 4 times, was that enough?

usually you add the sand first, put a plate down on the sand and add the water so it splashes on the plate, and not kicking up sediment. but whats done is done. 2 days max

When I put the sand in my tank, I rinsed my sand untill it ran clear before putting it in my tank.

If you havent added the salt yet you could do this to your sand and just change the water.

Don't know if this helps you now, I'm sure things will settle down for you.
