    Tank Bowing !!!!!

    Hello
    Is bowing normal for a 20g - 30" x 13" x 13" ??????
    Not much , 1mm with 3/4 of the water in.

    Bowing of thin glass tanks is not uncommon. Just make sure that if this tank is used that someone has not removed a center brace.

    Checked now. Glass seems to be 4mm thick.

    At 4MM that's less then 1/4 of an inch so at 30 inches long bowing would be normal. That dose not mean it is a good thing ... just that it is normal.

    Where did you buy this tank?

    I know that I bought a 29 gallon tank from Petcetera and it bows... There is no center brace... It's been filled up for 2 years with no problem...

    i dont have one on my 29 gallon... (from petcetera)

    And it's all good... I would not worry about it,,,

    Pm me and I can show you a pic of a homemade brace that i made for my 55 if you want. Works great and doesn't look too bad.
    55 Gallon w 22 lbs of live sand and 40 lbs of crushed coral.
    60 lbs of live rock. 220 watts PC lighting.

    Damsel, clowns, xenia, digitata, green star polyps, torch, zoo's, candycane, shrooms.
