    long tentacles???

For about a month now I have observed these long tentacle things coming out from between some of my live rock. They’re only about 1mm in diameter but a few inches long. They’re striated - light pink/black. They seem to feel their way along the rock like they’re feeding. Anyone have any clue what this cold be – and if I want them in my tank?

I tried to get a picture but they’re just too small.

    Could be a bristol star.

I don't think so. I have baby bristol stars in my tank. This dosen't look anything like that. these things are like a few inches long and really narrow.

I have a few peanut snails in some of my live rock. They are mostly white with black stripes and markings. Usually only see them on the underside of the rock, usually in the darker areas. They sort of look like an elephants trunk, which can retract very quick. From what I have read they are harmless.

Put it this way, those things are part of why you pay so much for LR!!
They are either arms of a Brittlestar or Peanut worms. Does the tip end in a point ( Brittlestar) or flat like an elephant's trunk( Peanut worm)? The Peanut worms only come out in the dark and will retract very quickly at the first sign of light. Both are harmless and very beneficial for cleaning up.

I seen one in my tank last week but not as long as the ones in the picture though. Mine was about two inches.
    Don't know what they are?

Really looks like mini brittle star legs to me. My 300g is full of them. You hardly ever see the actual starfish, just the legs.

Some kind of worm i think. I have them in my tank as well. Mine are alot thicker. I think they are ok. As far as I know they clean up in there so anything that cleans up must be good ......right???
