    Sump Return

Just a quick one. My sump is returned by a mag 5 threw pvc and then at the end I've attached clear tube to direct the water flow as desired. I've heard that this clear tube could clog with algae and I should use black rubber tube. Anyone have experience with this?

I used clear hose for the overflow and return from the sump. The section of the O/F that is near the lights in the sump does get a buildup of algae. I have to ream it out once or twice a year.

I may just get a neato nozzle instead of the end I am using so that I can direct flow over the surface of the water, etc.
