Hello everyone I was just wondering where most of you guys buy your live rock and if you were happy with it?

Will Tampa bay Saltwater ship to Canada or is customs a problem because its "LIVE" rock. Also ive heard JL aquatics in B.C has good L.R?Here in NL its approx $11-14$ per pound so I figured Id shop around!:huh??:

Have you checked out Esan Aquatics. they have 3-4 diffrent types of rock there and the best prices in town, i think between 8-14 per lbs depending on the type of rock.

JL does have good rock generally, Ive seen some good stuff get shipped here. AC also sells rock so you can contack IJO to get some prices. However...getting it shiped has its downfalls by not being able to pick out your rock. Id definily take a run to Esan and look at their rock, there is quite a bit there to choose from.

Newfman, Yes, Tampa Bay will ship here...but you need to take care of all the proper permits/documentation...not worth the hassle...I looked into a few years ago.

Price wise you won't beat J&L if you are ordering a lot at once. Even with shipping it comes in cheaper then anything available in the province.

the thing with JL though is you have to be ordering alot of rock to make it worth the money.

i would definily price local too (Esan Aquatics) along with AC and JL.

The $$$ savings would greatly outweigh picking my own pieces for me..

from JL it's about 6.08 plus taxes after shipping per pnd, that's for a box...which is about 65 pnds according to their site... Also talk to Ivan here, as he has had some real nice stuff shipped to people...it's a tad more expensive than JL but the shipping is less so it's not much more expensive.
now if I were looking for less than a box i'd go to the store mentioned earlier
