    Question 180g=What Protein shimmer???

Hi again, just looking for some advice on what the best skimmer costing around $1000.00 would be for a 180g reef.

I was considering the Euro reef CS12-2 but now they have there recirculating models out now and I don't now about the RC design do you?

I also was told that Deltec can skim circles around ER is this so?:hammerhea

I have a euro-reef ES 8-3 on my 125. The tank is only new so its not heavily stocked yet but it pulls out lots of gross stuff, I love it...the skimmer that is :P

you have some decent options with $1000. The MtC HSA 1000 would be an excellant choice.
The Deltec APF 600 or the AP 851 are also great choices.
    --I don't know E.R. skimmers...
The H&S skimmers also get great reviews.
My only advice is to buy the biggest- largest tank rated skimmer within your budget. But I'd stay with either a Becket injected skimmer (MTC) or a needle wheel type (Deltec or H&S)
I'm not %100 sure but there may be a HSA 1000 for sale around here...

EuroReef are good skimmers, and Deltec doesn`t run circles around ER recirculating models.

For performance what Matt said is right on the money, I would go needle wheel/Pin Wheel. Beckets need a good pump that draws some good Hydro current$$$.

Between Deltec and H&S construction quality is better on the H&S and they are more competitivly priced.
