light
I was browsing throught the classified section in my area and came across this......1000 watt metal halyde bulb, ballast and reflector at 7 feet high can cover a 8' X 8' hydroponic table $300
Would this be any good for an aquarium?

I think I would see if you can get 1000W lamps in the correct colour temp before purchasing the light. How big is the tank? 1000W @ 7 feet with out doing the math would be less intense that 250W @ 8-12". Mind you you wouldn't;t have the light 7' away.

My tank is 72" long. I was just curious if this could work? Thanks for the heads up on what to consider!
