    Sandbed woes..

Well everything in the tank seems to be running fairly smoothly and looking good. EXCEPT, the sandbed.. it seems to be accumulating and clumping with light green algea. I had been picking all the chunks/top layer off, however it just forms again and I'm loosing my sand depth this way. Is this normal and what should I be doing?
I was considering just covering the bottom with live rock so you can't even see the sand much

You need some sand sifters in there. How big is your current cleanup crew?

Well I have about 25 Hermits and 15 Astrea snails.. but they all seem to stay on the rocks.. and not the sand bed..

Nassarius snails seem to do a good job on my sandbed. They even stir it some. I would try those. Did you end up getting an RO/DI unit? I have been lucky and haven't had that much algae since my cycle.

Try a conch or two. I have a fighting conch in on tank and a strombus in another. They did more to the apperance of my sand then my nass' did in a month. But I would still keep both.

I ordered a few Strawberry Conches, some Turbo grazer snails and Cerith snails... hopefully they will make a difference
