    New Crocea Clam

I recently purchased a small crocea clam from my local aqarium store. I dont know mcuh about raising clams, but it was on sale, so i took advantage of the situation.
I am running about 5 1/2 watts per gallon on my 50 gallon aquarium. The guy said that I should position the clam high up in the tank, so I did.
I'm not sure how to tell if it is happy in the spot it is in, or if it is healthy or needs more light. I attatched a picture, so please tell me what you think.

Watts per gallon is from what I have learned, is a very poor indicator of how much lighting you have. 250 watts of Normal output floresants does not provide the same intensity as say a 250 watt Metal Halide. The new buzz word is "PAR". The clam should be fine because you are running at least PC lighting to get to 5.5 watts on a 50 gallon. If you do have MH than I would suggest putting it a little lower as you tank is probably not more than 20" deep. The pictures are a little blurry, however, it does look like a nice clam. Congrats.
If my wife asks, it was only $20.

    Hardware:
220 Gal Mostly SPS Reef, 66 gal sump with refuge, 33 gal refugium, Gen-X Mak-5 Return, 3 x IceCap 250 MH, 2 x 110 VHO, Deltec APF600 Skimmer and a Deltec AP-600, Geo 6-18 Calcium Reactor, 2 x Tunze Stream 6100, Profilux Plus II EX Controller.

I am not running metal halide, but I do have about 260 watts of compact fluorescent.
    Thanks for the help swiseman.
