    Quick Question

    Hi all,

I was wondering how hard it would be to find a Bushy White Xenia frag like the one found here

    http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/p...cfm?pCatId=699

Is this kind of Xenia harder to find than the brachy Xenia?

    Thanks,

    Steph

Ooh, I've got that (or at least, I think I do). It hitchhiked on a rock with shrooms and 3 ricordia! It's tripled in size in the past 2 months or so. If I can figure out how to frag it, you're welcome to some.

Are you planning to frag it anytime soon? I'd buy a piece off of you if it's like the one in the picture

Either of you ... or anyone that has some for that matter I really like that coral and since I've got the nano I've got to be selective whith what I buy

Mine fragged itself with the assiance of a powerhead.

I think you can just snip the stalk. The bottom grows back pretty quickly & I suspect the top will attach to anything moving slowly enough...

I've never tried reattaching the top cuz I have more xenia than my nano needs

    Cheers!

I dunno if I would call this a tip per se, but I have some purple colored pulsing xenia that is growling like a weed! All I do it place a small piece of rock next to the base of one of the colonies and give it 2 weeks and it will have grown onto that rock and easily separated from the rest. It sort of frags itself! haha.. I have also just cut pieces off and given it to a friend and it will attach to a rock within 2-4 days in their tank. Seems harder to kill than it does to keep alive.. Just my observation..

i just rip a piece of xenia off the colony (as it keeps getting overgrown) and throw it in my sump. the stuff attaches in no time. its nearly impossible to kill. it is in the bottom of my tank, so i pull it out using tongs (which squeeze the hell out of it too). within a few hours its all as good as new.

I'll see if my husband feels adventerous and wants to try fragging (that way it won't be my fault if the frag dies) If all works out, which most people seem to say takes a couple of days, I'll let you know. Sound good? You too AK
