    candycane slime

I just placed my new candycane after 2 hour aclimatization and while I was doing that it released some stringy slime.
What is it and is it good or bad?
    I run 30g skimmerless/sumpless.

I purchased a candy cane frag at the last maso meeting in montreal last weekend. I acclimated the coral for 2 hours just like you and it also release 1 strand of brown "slime". It's been in the tank now close to a week and has opened up nicely and at night it closes and I can see it's tentacles. It seems to be happy in it's new home. I did not research what this was but I assumed it was "coral waste" not sure if there is such a thing. Maybe someone with more experience can chime in.

It's just that... slime. a lot of corals will release a slime when taken out of the water, I havent rechearched it either but I supposed it's just a protective coating.

They do that every time you move and touch them. Nothing to worry about.
Anyway we should see some pics.
