I keep mine between 420-440. 480 is a bit high but not exagerated, imo 500+ is too high. Generally you want to keep calcium at 410 but having 420-460 is good also, less hassle unless you have a calcium reactor. I think, someone correct me if i am wrong, high calcium might be bad for pumps leaving calcium deposits on impellors. It might be a good idea to make a poll on this subject.

I've had my CA over 580 for a couple months without caclifying pumps heaters etc.

I did switch to IO salt though becasue I felt that was more than a bit high.

I keep my tanks at 420 now though.

    Cheers!

Wow JR your tank is so purple I would have thought you had a much higher Ca. With the coraline alone you have a pretty high demand, what are you using to keep up with it?

    Cheers!

    Cool

TURBO CALCIUM [CHLORHIDE] I will be switching to a reactor in AUG, or SEPT. my numbers have always been like that. no ill effects at all. corals grow very fast.
I use just the TURBO and SEACHEM reef builder and yes to much corraline!!!!!. the awsome rock I bought from AC is the main reason.
