    Question Molting Emerald cab ?????

    How can I tell if my emerald crab as molted or if it's dead.
    P.S. I'm french so I never make any typos......they are actual mistakes :sorry:
    I'm not in a rush.....but I am on a budget! :bigcry:

    If he molted he'll be hiding. Give him a few days and he should pop back up. If he's dead you'll see your cleanup crew all over it trying to eat it ... but they might go after a molt also. Keep an eye out for him for the next couple of days.

    You might also want to look for "cracks" in the shell. Molts are never perfect.

    That's my problem! I can't tell if what I'm looking at is a molt or my dead crab?

    Dose the molt have all the legs and claw attache to it or just the main crab shell?

    My coral banded shrimp molted and I found the skeleton clinging to a rock. It looks exactly like the animal however if you poke it, you'll see its a hollow skeleton. My shrimp came out later that night to show off his/her new colors. I suspect a molt.
