    wrasse ID

A few weeks ago, I was at Aqua Tropicale on Ferrier St.
I bought a wrasse, of unkown ID, they didn't know what it was, but assured me it would grow no bigger than its present size of 5.5 inches, pink, blue and yellow in color.
There were 3 in separate tanks. Now, all are gone.
I ID'd it as a fiji x-mas wrasse. Halichoeres ornatissimus, which is more red and green.
Now, I'm thinking its halichoeres radiatus. "puddingwife wrasse" I can't take a pic of him/her as she is too quick for my poor digi-cam.

Here is a link I found that is the closest match:

By chance, did anyone else, see them or buy one?

I have no idea why he does it, he's aquired that behaviour since i moved (what a hoot!)

Do you have any other wrasses? I've been thinking about getting one for my reef.
a friend of mine has this pair with magnificent color, red/pink head, with blue and green body and yellow/green fins. (large wrasses if you as me, 4' roughly)
they spend much of the time hiding in a cave. but totally cool!
    i want something different

My wrasse is very sociable, all over the tank. Goes to bed around 6 in the evening. All yu see is a sand blur and you know she's dug under for the night, and is up around 7a.m. again.
There are so many wrasses. I kind of like the Lunare Wrasse, which might be the one your friend has.

Since my tank is only a 25g nano, I have to be careful about stocking. I'm looking at an anthias at the moment, threadfin anthias, pink, to compliment the blue pink and yellow wrasse.

I'm going to have another look today. I supose I'll have to consider it stocked now and concentrate on corals......
Now I now why people go to bigger and bigger tanks lol

i like fish with big fins. i always have a nive Crown Beta they looks always so totally cool

what wrass would you reccomend for my tank?

i really haven't put much in my reef yet. there is a clown and some damsels (which i will be parting with soon enough) and a bicolor angel.
there are come pollups, a gornipora, some mushrooms and a leather and cabbage coral

The hundred gallon tank? I read someting about anthias doing better in a tank with gonipora.
I bough an anthias today. I got a deal. Its a red anthias, more like shocking pink with darker dots on both fins and a spike on his head. So I call him Spike of course.

In your hundred gallon? Which tank? You've got a few lol. You have so many choices. I'd do a harem of anthias. One male and 4 female. And a couple of the Lunare wrasse. With the bi-color angel. Wow. So many possibilities!
