    Walmart

    ok i hope this got someones attention i just tore down my SW setupand after a week already want to start up another small tank..i have a 28 gal bowfront i got at Walmart was wonderign if anyone knows what brand it would be and is it capable of being drilled?? (without cracking!!!) i know all hagen tanks are 100% non tempered glass but not sure what brand this is

    most tanks are NOT tempered because of $$ except the bottom pane. were do you want to drill.

    middle back i figured the same most say bottoms tempered just would like to be sure before i shatter it

    you'll find out as soon as you touch it with the bit!!!!LOL


    All the same I had one of those tanks from walmart and there was a sticker on the bottom of it wich said tempered glass. I think it only applied to the bottom.

    I think I know of the tank you're talking about (I was looking at it too). It's the 28g bow with the light strip(p.c. I think), stand, and glass top for about $200, right? I asked them to open the box and read the leaflet to see. It said the bottom was tempered but it didn't say anything about anywhere else so I'd go with it's not, but that's just a guess.

    I think the Bowfront tank that Walmart sells is a tempered bottom.
    If its the tank brand I think it is "Perfecto" most of there custom tanks are.

    I'd bet dollars to dounts that it's only the bottom that is tempered.
