    Phyto & rots question

    Hi All,

I'm thinking of cultivating phyo & rotifiers. I've read a couple articles on it but I'm curious if anyone here is doing it?

Additionally should I order both at the same time, or get my phyto going, then order rotifiers?

    Thanks!

I did it for about a year. I got tired of never being able to leave the house. If you leave for three days all of your cultures crash. It was easier to find a kid to take care of of our dog. None of the dog-sitters could keep the cultures alive.

I now use golden pearls. I take some out of the fridge and put it in my tank twice a week. Everything is happy.

Someday I would like to get back into the "live food" business, but not until somebody designs a plankton reactor that will run for a week unattended.

You might be able to automate something.

ShipWreck was looking at an automatic system for Phyto. Might be manageable to add Rotifers.

For the tank I'll likely use pearls, but I'm interested in rasing fry. From what I've read pearls are too big for them too eat, or is there something new?

    Cheers!
