    sump needs help

    Hi all,

I wonder any one here have experience with the sump build by bare tank? Can give me the advice, Iím planning to build 20 or 30G basic sump that can hide my heater and in-sump skimmer act.. . What stuff do I need to build sump and where to get it, and how much do you think I have to spent. Or I should buy from retail?

    Thank you all,

    Cuteo

Many of us here built not only sump but whole systems consisting of main tanks, refugiums and the sumps. Every case is different so you should post what your current or future setap is/would be so we know how to respond. Also there are many folks here that have similar setup up and running so you might get to see their setup and decide if it will work for you. Then you should decide for setup appropriate for your case.
I built most of my equipment and saved bunch of cash just following advices from this site.
I will show you my setup (main, sump, fuge) just let me know when you want to see it.

you can use a 20/30g aquarium for your sump or something as simple as a rubbermaid.

Is your tank drilled? You can put an overflow box on it and get a return pump from Ivan or checkout Marinescape on Carling.

There are plenty of people on here that can help, but make sure you get a couple opinions. Some can be bad.

one more thing, you should check out the Ottawa library. They have a dozen marine aquaria books on hand which will give you a jump start. You can search for books online and have them delivered to the closest one.
