    button polyps

I've had these green button polyps a week today. Some small ones open, some open partially and others are like closed fists.
Today I see whitish edges to some of them. I got them from a tank that had metal halide but old bulbs and everything in the tank was neglected and so they were just hanging on in there. I thought they'd do better in mine, but seem to be blanching.
The water parameters are all good. Ph8.3, kh 9, o amonia, o.nitrite, low nitrate. salinity 1.024. ca. 430ppm.
Is it that the lighting is too strong? I notice some of the stolan (stems) had some cheesy looking stuff on them but the hermits have cleaned that up.
    Are they gonners?

Well things are looking a bit better for these sea mats. The older, taller ones are hanging in but the smaller babies are livening up and may be spreading. I think having stronger light was the problem, but it seems to be acclimatizing now.

When do you know that a coral is too far gone and when to remove it?
