I am still waiting for the ballast. Currently I only have the original light (20W not VHO) in my tank.
I have to wait another week until I get the ballast.
Should I leave the light of all the time or have it on during the day.
So far this is what I have in my tank.
Any sugestions to make it look beter before I put livestock in. ?

well isnt that liverock haha, sorry, you know when you add liverock it cycles then when you add more it cycles again?
as for the light, keep it on whenever you like, i think the max you can have it on is 12 hours i do belive, and then you get lots of algea, but i keep my light on most of the day and night, i have alittle bit of algea problems but that that big

art: 8-12 hours a day is enough light for that cured rock to stay alive. Once you get the VHO going your calcium and alk are in tune...you'll notice the coralline algae growing on the rock and glass.
If your looking for critters... take a flashlight to your tank a few hours after the lights have gone out... Hope this helps.

If I may make a few suggestions, paint the outside back of the glass either black or a deep blue. When you add corals they will stand out much, much more!!!
Even if you don't have any livestock in there at the moment, you might want to still feed the tank a very little amount of food regularly. Don't forget what makes liverock "live"..., all those crittes have to eat too.
Most important.. remember the word "PATIENCE"!!!!
