Both my nitrates and ammonia levels are nearly perfect. I had them tested at the fish store. I have yet to do a water change, but was planning to do one possibly this week. Should I not of used an undergravel as well? I guess I may have been misinformed. When I do the water change, do I mix the salt and water the day before and let sit?
When I first transitioned to a reef tank I had an undergravel filter running and found I was getting all kinds of slimey algae growing. When I tore out the lifts and covered up the holes left behind with gravel, this pretty much wiped out my cyano problem. Add a few power heads to promote water circulation as well.
I'd consider MH for a frag of that coral, migraines and all!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aquarium Pharmaceuticals produce a line of test kits that are good and inexpensive. I Paid around $AUS15 to $AUS25 for all my kits.
As for test kids I have a friend that will donate a 4year old and pay all the transfer fees, and include a packed lunch! (Heh)
