Anyone know what this is for?

    OK,

So I'm pretty sure this is from my skimmer, Coralife Super Skimmer 3000.
It's some sort of shut-off vavle. But for the life of me I can't locate this
part in the manual or where to install it. The only other thing it could be from
is a Maxi-Jet 1200. Can anyone idnetify this?

    Cheers

What ever it's from it looks like a flow control valve that might be to control how much air enters the water through what looks like a capped air input hole just behind the valve handle.

    Talking Here is that pic..

I hope this helps, I use it to control the water level for when I need to empty the collection cup. It works really well.

Thanks! I have mine on that way now. Of course I had to remove that rubber hose, and man that's no easy chore! Once it's on it's ON!

I hear ya, but it gets a bit easier after a few cleanings. Still a pain, but not near as hard as the first time. Have fun with it, I love this skimmer.

Thing is a triple checked and they don't mention or show this part ANYWHERE
in the instructions! Odd. Was it mentioned in yours or you just knew from
    previous experiences?

Actually it was a friend of mine that found some newer or someone elses instructions. Then he gave them to me. He may still have them or know where to find them. His username is colesy on the forums here.
