    IMO, a calcium reactor is the way to go anytime- if you can afford the time and money to have it. In a big sps tank I think it is a must. It gives a more comprehensive dose of elements than just KW or two part additives. Running KW as well as a reactor is also a good idea because the co2 from calcium reactors tends to drop the ph a little in the tank and supplementing with kw at night can help bring it back up as well as keep it drom dipping at night.

    I have used both a ca reactor , which i'm currently using and wouldn't go without , and a kalk reactor which i sold, but plan on buying another one once i get a reliable floatswitch, i think in the perfect sps tank you would run both
