    Sump Plan

Im looking to build my sump, I got all I need to cut and install my acrylic baffles, now I just want your opinions on my sump plan.

    Here is my plan...

The first part is the return from my tank/return from skimmer and also serves a bulkhead that outputs into my skimmer pump. From there on it goes through a few baffles for a bubble trap. I added a few extra baffles in order to have some slots to put filter pads if ever the need arises, is there any problems with adding filter pads there ?? Then after it goes on to my refugium and then into the part where my return to tank pump is located.

I want to know your opinions/suggestions!

I like the design. Very well thought out.

I would maybe make a small change...

Counting the baffles from the left to right, numbering them 1 to 5, I would remove baffle #2, and in it's place, make a media tray out of eggcrate light panel in order for you to place media bags such as carbon, or polyfilter, etc...

Other than that, I like it.

    Cool Thanks!

When you mean a "tray" you mean removing the baffle #2 and putting a piece of eggcrate at the bottom of tank in that "compartment" and then I can place filter bags or what not in there ?

    Yea,

But upon re-reading my suggestion, I see that in doing so, water would only run over the media, not through it.

Ideally, instead of my first suggestion, move baffle #1 to the left to allow sufficient space to add media as needed. Incorporate a tray as I previously suggested in that area, elevated off the bottom so that water runs through the media, filter-pad, etc. towards the next baffle compartment.
The tray could sit on a ledge between the 2 indicated baffles.

I've done this in my sump, and it works great.
