Ivan was mentionning I could try feeding it mysis shrimp or brine shrimp.

just wondering what everybody else is feeding those guys.

I tried for the first time today brine shrimp, but as soon I i put some close to the mouth, all the tentacles grabed the piece and in curled into a ball.. is that a good thing, or did I piss him off real good :

    thanks!

FRogspawns have heads, in the middle of the head is a mouth, usually closed but when I feed my fishies, they seem to open within minutes... feeding off the particles im assuming.

planning next tank, possibly 60x30x20 on 2x plasma.

I just got mine from Ivan last week and I must say it's beautiful. When I'm feeding the tank I've noticed that it seems to open up at the middle (I guess like a baby saying ahhh opening it's mouth)

I've tried to gently squirt some brine shrimp but I think that even doing it gently seems to aggitate it. Did you just grab some brine and move the tenticles and place it near the mouth? How often is this recommended?

When it does catch some brine it closes up fast but if it's that hungry maybe I should spot feed it like you!?

I had to hold a piece of mysis right on its mouth before it ate[pain] I've never fed my TORCH and HAMMER for 3 years and they don't want to eat so I guess they are doing just fine?

If they open, which most will during feeding, and then close up right away, it's usually because it has just sucked in a piece of food and is consuming it. Similar to a carpet anenomne. It's a good thing when they close up afer taking in a piece of food. Mash up some brine and mysis shrimp...mash em up good...then refreeze them. Break off a small piece and feed them that...

Most will feed right from the water column though during feeding times. I don't feed any of my corals...just what ever they can grab during feedings adn from the refugium.

The only thing two reef keepers will agree on, is what the third reef keeper is doing wrong!
