    Not dumb.

There are two methods. Flame Angel and myself feed often and what is considered heavy. We also have a large clean up crew, etc. I feed phyto on a 24/7 drip (about 150 phyto diluted in 1 gallon of tank water 3 to 4 times a day). I feed blender mush twice a day and algae flakes once or twice a day and shrimp pellets twice a day. Flame Angel has her schedule here - http://www.sjwilson.net/reef/

Others feed their fish a small pinch once every 2 to 3 days.

These are the two extremes. Others are somewhere in between. Basically there is no right or wrong way. Start feeding a little bit and increase slowly as your tank adjusts. Do your tests and you will, over time, find out what works for you.

I've basically always fed my tank as much as I can get away with and still maintain high water quality. This has given me fat happy fish that don't bother my corals or clams and have never seen ich or other diseases. You have to build up slowly with a new tank but if you monitor your nitrates and nuisance algae you will get a feel for how much you can feed. If you have live rock and a live sandbed more food will boost the life in there as well.

I do once a day, at 8PM ish... depending on when I get home. My fish mob the turkey baster! I feed a mixture of seafood with Mysis and brine shrimp.

As someone on this board said - there is no dumb questions except the unasked ones.

I feed once a day and alternate between high quality flake food, frozen brine shrimp, frozen blood worm, frozen tubiflex worms. On a random day each week I don't feed them anything and on one of the weekend days I feed 3 times.
