    My attempt at a reef....

This is my tank. I am still new at this and the system has been set-up since march. The display tank is a 42 gallon(36X18X15) with a 20 gallon DIY sump. The stand is DIY to accomodate my sump and equipment. The lighting is 6Xt5ho for 234w. My skimmer is an Aqua C Remora. I have 57 Lbs of live rock in the system.

Looking good. You can see the movement oin the corals from the picture. What do you have hanging from the overflow? I see a couple ropes(?) there.

They are rubber bands, I am trying to attach a colt coral to the rock. The hermits kept knocking the rock over, so I hung it up there until the colt attaches...it's been a month, and I am still waiting...

Now that makes sense. I had a problem with turbo snails in the coral tank. They are bulldozers and have been relegated to the FOWLR tank.

Next question :b16: There is a nice blue coral mid left in the tank. I cannot tell what it is, but the color is nice. Are they zoas, rics, or goniopora.

I see the yellow tang. What other fish do you have?

Water flow in the display tank is about 1400 gph, so about 33X turnover...The blue coral is a blue clove polyp. The best part is that it is propagating nicely in the tank, I have 3 areas where there is 5-8 polyps growing. You are right, I have a young yellow tang(I know the tank is a bit small for it, but the plan is that by the time it grows, it will have a 60 to 72" tank). I also have a mandarin, coral beauty, falco hawkfish, royal gramma(still in quarantine) and 2 oscellaris.

Nice selection of fish. The colour on the cloves really stands out. Good job.
