I got mine from Ian at http://reefperfection.com/

I saw a lot of detritus appear in mine. Actually after I started using it it didn't tank long before my algae problem receeded. Don't know if it was the sock or is just finally ran its course (I had started a mini cycle I beleive).

I'd order them from Ivan then. Ian is locall to me but Ivan is great to deal with.

I recommend getting a couple of them so you can take one out to wash and let sit out in air and have a second to put back in.

I change mine out twice weekly. Wash them in the washing machine with bleach. Run them through a second cyle with water only. All I've noticed is that my sump stays a lot cleaner than it used to. Tank clears up much faster after a turkey basting as well.
