    10 gal nano

I am new to the forum but been a silent reader for a while. My boyfriend are starting a 10 gal nano. We have a coralife 50/50 20" light, 100 watt heater and a Maxi jet 900 for flow.
Before putting everything in, how much sand should we use? I mean, should I go with a deep sand bed or more shallow. What is better for that our size aquarium?
BTW, this forum is helped out great on learning about SW hobby.

When I hade everything in my 10 gallons nano I hade a 1" sand bed. Rigth now everything has been transfered 3 days ago in a 25 gallons "long" nano tank and I added 1" of sand bed also. Everything has been running great in the 10 gallons for 6 month.

I don't think the sandbed(deep or shallow) will make any real difference in a nano tank. I would go with a look that you like. I went deep with my wall aquarium(about 6 inches) but the only reason for doing it was for the look.

i also like the look of a 1" sand bed, especially in a nano due to the already limited viewing space. as the other have said, it is your personal preference so take a look at a few pics around the site or at your LFS and do what works for you.

we would love to see some pics when you get settled in :b16:

don't use the crushed shells, they will collect detritus ( waste and food ) and cause nitrate problems.
