    button polyp coral question

    Hello All,

I just got my first coral the other day and I have noticed that there is a small worm/catipiller that likes to stay in the coral, is this a pest or a friend?? He is semi transparent and about 3/4 cm long.

    Please let me know.

No it is more like a long catipillar, this looks like a type of shrimp. Thanks for your help.

how is the coral reacting to the 'bug' ???

sounds like free food ( isopod ), not the huge ones you'll find in a google search. if he's having a negative effect on the coral, you may want to remove the coral for a dip.

does he look like this ???

    `

120S RR tank with 60G basement sump / fuge

Return Pump: Little Giant 4-MDQX SC
    Water Movement: MP40W, Seio 1500, (2) Hydor K4's
Lighting: 400W SE MH with 10K Venture
Skimmer: Euro-Reef RS250 with gate valve

No I don't think he is having a negative effect, but I have not seen him for a few days. I did notice that one of the polyps have closed about 90% of the way, but the rest are doing great. I did notice a small palm tree looking think(pink) growning with the button polyps? Not sure what this is, but it is growing quite fast. Any idea of what it may be??

    Thanks,
