    Looking for travertine/tile stores

I am thinking about adding a travertine/tile/slate back-splash to our kitchen. We looked at what HD/Rona has and I wasn't impressed with the selection. Does anyone know of a store between Ottawa-Montreal that has a good selection of what we are looking for?

ASTRO FLOORING and NEPEAN FLOORING are 2 of the best stores for selection

I found a good selection at the Rona on Marivale/HuntClub area. and they cut my pieces for me onsite and the guys didn't even charge me for it.. great service and advice too. I ended up picking black granite... absolutely love that black glossy look & shine.

moving.. so temporarily out of SW :b8:
planning next tank, possibly 60x30x20 on 2x plasma.

Dark. Funny stuff ive been looking at travertine to lay down in our kischen as well. Ive recently shopped arround. The best stuff I found was at reno depot. about 6 $ /sqft. This stuff was polished.

Ive also seen quite a few different ones at "La tuilerie" on Querbes in Outremount (Mtl). They had amore rough looking stuff for a little more, like 8$/sqft.

Thought I would chime in on this one. As I am a ceramic/stone installer in the kingston area.

Marble is a nice product for sure. I have installed some beautiful backsplashed and floor in traventine. Being in ottawa you should have a Centura tile located there. Im sure they can help you find what your looking for.

Keep in mind if this is a DIY project, you will need a water saw! White motar is a must as the gray will bleed through causeing the stone to darken. Another important thing is to seal the stone before you grout and again after the grout has cured.

    good luck

I've always liked Zanetti Tile. I've shopped there for almost 20 years.
