No I'm not pulling on or holding her tongue. That's the breeder and he is baiting her with cheese so he can place her feet for the PIC. In the show ring the breeders and handlers will use small pieces of cooked liver or other suitable treat in their hands to get and keep the dogs attention.

I'm certainly no dog expert but Lady really looks like a thoroughbred. Beautiful long legs and body structure. Perfect straight back.

Thanks Flame Angle. :-) She is a fine example of a doberman and I hope that she will get her CKC championship before she is 2 years of age. Her Dad is currently ranked # 4 doberman in the united states. She is also VERY SCARY smart :-) However she is our loved family pet first .... and show dog 2nd.

I like the fact that you think of her as a pet first. I don't think there's anything wrong with showing animals as long as it's done in the right context and the animal knows it is loved and respected.

Her breeding certainly shows. I'm sure she will do very well.

YES she is always a loved pet first. The showing part is the hobby / fun part and it is good for her to be out and about. I don't take the showing part too seriously and don't even have the right to breed her regardless of how well she may do.
