    Return of the King

Well last night I decided to rent LOR Return of the King extended version...

Man I didnt realize they cut out so much almost 1 hour worth.
The movie was a little over 4 hours long. There were quite a few scenes that should have been kept in like how Aragon got controll of the boats and a whole lot more..It was worth watching this extended version .

Sounds good, I've watched the extended version of the Fellowship and the Two Towers and they were awesome. My brother had Return of the King(Extended) here over the hollidays but we didn't get around to watching it.

Yeah, up to 45 minutes added to each of them...highly recommended! It makes for a long movie but well worth it.

There's an approximate 1 hour of footage cut out of each movie. The ploy was to release the regular versions in August, and then drop the extended just before Christmas. It worked like a charm. I was working in a cd/movie store when the first (and second) extended came out, and we were flooded with complaints by customers who didn't want the first version, and wanted to exchange it for the better one. Oh, the horror.

Short story: watch the extended versions if you want the whole movie. There is a wealth of extra footage, much of which is pretty important (death of Sauron, anyone?).

Cool, you must have gotten all the deals and inside scoops on everything huh? Sauron bought it when the Ring was destroyed in the fires of Mordor wasn't he? Is there more to it?

Ooopsie, meant Saruman. Impaled on spiked water wheel after falling from a tower. I believe it happens after the Battle of Helm's Deep. Gandalf confronts and defeats Saruman (which was just implied in the screen version).

One of the only reasons I worked there was for the discount and pre-releases. We were charged cost for product. Even when I was on maternity leave, I got the discount. I miss it
