    Sushi Lovers

We Finally decided to take up our nieghbors invitation to go to one of there 3 SUSHI restaurants they own located in the Montreal area.

My wife is not so keen on Raw fish but since there was cooked stuff she didnt worry to much.I have had it in the past so didnt mind it.

The Ambiance was really nice and the Sushi was fantastic the food just kept on coming from Octopus to Flying fish eggs I think I ate every type of Sushi out there except for the Arrowanas in there display tank

The funniest part of the evening was when I did like the owner and plastered some wasabi and Soy sauce over my sushi... They warned me but I said I CAN HANDLE HOT...My face turned red and almost exploded while trying to be polite and keep it down:bawling: ,
in the mean time everyone was cracking up:happy2:
We had a great time even the wife & kids trying sushi for the first time.

Well I highly recommend going to these Sushi Restaurants we went to the AIKAWA location which was very nice and the downtown locations are even larger.

    Robin,

I'm a big fan of the sushi..in Toronto here they have recently started a bylaw where sushi has to be frozen prior to serving it. No more raw, fresh sushi. Raw yes, but it was previously frozen.

Is this the same in Montreal?

I don't know why the city changed the bylaw, I've never heard of any cases in TO of food poisioning as a result of bad sushi. It's kinda made some sushi a a little mushy..not quite a nice.

From my knowlege of sushi, all places that know what theyre doing flash freeze their fish. Kills bacteria.

Hey Robin did you try the UNI? Japanese word for urchin. Its by far my favourite, a delicasy in Japan!

Was it just Ontario that passed the law?

All the sushi places around here are up in arms about it because freezing the fish ruins the texture and flavour. I read an article where a doctor on some health safety board said that he hadn't heard of anyone getting seriously ill from sushi in over 25+ years. Sure there's a chance of getting sick from a bad piece of fish, but you aren't going to die. What a stupid law to pass.

I thought Ontario dropped the law for Sushi? I seem to recall hearing it on CBC, but I just got back from vacation so I might be misremebering.

    Cheers!

Last I heard a couple months ago the law was either comnig down the pipe or could already be in place. I'm not sure though...you could very well be correct. I hope so !!
