I think it's a Acanthurus guttatus, Spotted Surgeon fish.

    Wet web says this:

Acanthurus guttatus Forster 1801, the Spotted or Mustard Surgeonfish you might easily take for a Sailfin Tang (Zebrasoma) member for its circular outline, broad bars and active swimming behavior. I've encountered mixed results with this species; some batches living well others dying mysteriously. To about ten inches total length.

They consider it a "bad tang", but who knows. They don't look exactly alike.

    Cheers!

I'm guessing then that Jewel tang is the more used common name for an Acanthurus guttatus ? Or my reference is old

Anyway, tang man do you have one? Are they "bad tangs" as Wetwebmedia suggests?

    Cheers!

    Krugar,
Jewel tang is the common name for this fish. It's latin name is indeed Acanthurus guttatus as you mentioned.

I don't have one. It is a prize fish that usually demands high money.
