Try Hostelling International. I spent a couple days at one up north, rustic but very homey. Family atmosphere. There is one in Old Montreal. 25.00 per night. They are clean, well run and quiet.

You'd have to call but I know most have a few accomodations which are private. I had a 'studio'. One queen bed, and a bunk bed set and an extra cot. (It was me and my daughter)with private bath. 22.00 for the night.
    Try looking online and call.
It might say there are no accomodations for your chosen date, but its usually never up to date.
