    Prop tank, egg crate shelfing

I have a 40gallon breeder as a sump/frag tank. Does anyone have a good rack layout scheme that would optimize placement area + ease of getting to the bottom in the event that frags would float to the bottom?

My current rack is 1 whole sheet of egg crate, taking 2ft out of the 3ft width. Its fit to size and if anything falls under, I can't get it at all!

Im going to have the frags rack at least 6-7" off the bottom, giving me 10" from rack to light distance. Lights are T5.

i don't have frag tank set up yet ( was thinking of doing a raceway ) but why don't you make it out of 2 ( or more pieces ) and leave a gap in the middle to get your hand in? or make one of the sections removable?

    just some ideas...

I plan on turning the 100 gallon trough tank downstairs into a frag setup... the idea is exactly what a4twenty mentioned... the whole top section will be covered in eggcrate(supported by PVC pipe). The idea is to not have a section of eggcrate larger than 12 inches square (for easy removal in case I need to get under there!!)
