    fraggin zoas

    hi i am going to be glueing some loose zoa frags that i got at the lfs to a rock i heard that they can spray u with a toxic substance so i will be covering my arms and face hands ect but i would just like to kno what the toxic substance will do to me if it gets on me and possible first aid if ne .... thx

    Like handling all corals, wearing gloves is never a bad idea. Safety glasses also as an extra measure and always wash well afterwards. Never touch eyes, mouth etc until you've washed up well. I have used this method and never had any problems.

    Just my personal opinion here and of course just common sense!

    i don't know about spray but they do have toxins in them. i've always just used tweezers ( more so for the glue ) but if you have gloves, they wont hurt. wash well after ( and before ) and don't touch your face ( or open wound ) and you should be fine. there shouldn't be any first aid concerns but definitely error on the side of caution.

    ok got the zoas glued an im still alive lol but between last night and today now (18 hours) the zoas have olny opened half way is this normal>?

    loctite superglue gel (contains cyanoacrylate) but all the others opened so i dont know . itheres a power head that blows right past it but olny for a split second

    yea a little starting to see inner colours the guy i got em from said there just getting used to my tank lights ect and somtimes hes had them stay shut 3+days so hoppefully thell be fine ... first corals lol :S all the other ones are doing fine tho so they should be good
