Venkiw's 175watt 10k..they are very white compared to the venture bulbs i was using. Will be going with these new ones from now on. No yellow or green, just a nice bright white colour.

    JeffD,

    What ballast are you using?

    TaCtikZ,

What ballast did you run the bulbs on 175 or 250 watt? did you have a timer on the circuit?

I'm very happy those bulbs worked out for you Jeff... These Sun 10K's will beat any 55 or 65k bulb... no problem there. :thumb:

for the actinics I've got an Icecap, and for the 250w mh's, I'm running Venture 250w ballasts. There is no timer on the circuit.
I have 4 fans that turn on when the MH's come on.. and that's all off one plug, and then the icecap is on it's own circuit with it's own plug also.. I would like the actinics to fire up 1 1/2 hrs prior to the MH's, and turn off 1 1/2 hrs after the MH's. I spoke with IJO about this, and he suggested a particular timer that would resolve this issue from Home depot. I will be visiting them shortly. In the meantime... it's Mike and the powerbar method

venkiw, i'm using regular tri tap 175w ballasts bought at an electrical store. They are not electronic type

Johnnyrock, yes i can see the tank now would have made the move 3-4 months ago but being out of work then put a damper on things. I need a "cash for life" job like someone i know ..haha

do these 175 10k bulbs have a true 10k look? no but i like them better then the venture 55's output and the price is a bonus.
