I feed what ever is handy at the time. I have tried and used almost all of the above. I haven't tried the cyclop-eeze yet but I will right after Christmas...My refugium provides enough on it's own...

The only thing two reef keepers will agree on, is what the third reef keeper is doing wrong!

    Robin,
Is there a reason only those are listed? I use others along with 3 mentioned there.
    I use:
Golden Pearls ( and love it for the Gorgs)
ESV spray dried Phyto ( amazing for an explosion of microlife)
Cyclop eeze ( has to be premixed in a slurry with other stuff)
    Ecosystem Reef Solutions

I had tried and hated the Kent phyto.
I had also tried 1 bottle of DT's but didn't see any difference and not worth the price IMO.

    Robin,
What's the product similar to ESV? Have you used it long enough to comment on it?

    Hi Greg,
I use PhytoPlan™ Advanced Plankton Diet.I have been using it for a while since i started I have noticed a Increase in my worm population, mind you I never used ESV but I am sure it would have the same results.
    here is a product overview:

PhytoPlan is a spray dried blend of several strains of phytoplankton. PhytoPlan is a food for filter feeding invertebrates and a great supplement to enrich the nutritional value of dried and frozen fish foods, or live Artemia. Rich in vitamins, trace elements, amino acids, and highly unsaturated fatty acids.

i have used DT's (not enough to comment, but havent bothered to get another bottle) and i use ESV and Golden Pearls (also not long enough to comment). I use them as they are highly reccommended.
I have cut back on those feedings lately as i am fighting my algae war. is it wise to cut back and let the corals just eat the algae out of the water? or should i continue to feed them anyway and hope it doesnt contribute to too much algae growth?

You can cut back, but do not stop, thats why i like Dt`s it a live culture so there is no garbage being left for the algea to thrive on.
I myself still use the dry foods but sparingly.
