Marinescape is still selling some Kudas. I got two. They are black in the store but can change color in your tank (mine are going orange/yellow). If you want other species, they are tough to find in Canada.

BTW, J&L is currently selling Hippocampus reidi. But they cost $150 each.

They will most likely give you a feeding demo if you ask. They eat frozen mysis.

MS will do that. It's need to watch them eat - very different approach from most fish.

BTW, one thing which we all forgot to mention is that you should only buy captive raised sea horses. Wild caught horses are much harder to keep, won't eat frozen food without major efforts and are susceptible to a wider range of infections. Plus, taking sea horses from the wild further depletes the natural supply. Unless you are into breeding in a big way, there is no reason to buy wild caught sea horses. The MS horses are captive bred. J&L don't say what their horses are.

Hey guys... just cruzin' some old post on various subjects.... if anyone is looking for captive bread seahorses at great quality from the originator in breeding various seahorses on a large scale, checkout:

    www.dracomarine.org

This guy was the first to breed seahorses on a large scale a good 10 yrs ago!!! I think he's got about 5 or so species including H. Erectus and reidi's that everyone loves.

    :wink5:
    enjoy.
