SUGAR SUGAR SUGAR…Have you tried dosing it?

It’s now been about a month of dosing sugar on a daily bases so I thought Id post my results so far. AMAZING!!! In both my SPS tank at home and my softy tank at my restaurant the results have been great!. No more nitrates! CRISTAL CLEAR WATER, very happy corals, and my skimmers are working like I put them on steroids!. I have never seen my SPS corals colors look so good!. Prior to dosing sugar I had a caulerpa outbreak in my tank that I couldn’t get under control so I was looking to find a fish that would eat it. Don’t need the fish anymore since it’s MELTING away do to the low nutrients in my system. SO FAR SO GOOD!! Ill keep you all posted.

    Hey Seahunter,

Yes, I read about dosing sugar several months ago. I suggested it to my brother for his tank, at a relatively small dose, and it seemed to help, but not totally get rid of the nitrates. Perhaps a larger dose is required in his case.

The idea behind dosing sugar is that it promotes the growth of beneficial bacteria.

How about dosing Vodka to reduce Nitrates and Phosphates? This is even more weird to me.
