    Got An Anemone? Pictures Wanted!

    hey!

Its been awhile since Ive posted, but i hope this post is greeted with many responses!

Im a Carleton student and Im writting a term paper on Sea Anemone's. I would like to add some interesting reference pictures to this paper and I know some of you have beautiful anemone's in your tanks.

Maybe people could post pictures here or send me pictures via email of your anemone (and/or anemone with host clown is awesome too!). A short description of your anemone and your tank would also be appreciated!

The Anemone description should breifly contain:
    (1) how long you've had it
    (2) what species it is (if you know)
    (3) if it has split, died or in any way written an interesting chapter in the life of your tank

    Tank Description Im looking for:
    (1) general size of your tank
    (2) is the anemone hosted?
    (3) what're your tank param's (temp, salinity, lighting...etc)

    All responses are appreciated!
    TIA!

    ANEMONE

    - i have had him for 1 1/2yrs, was about the diameter of a pop can when i got him. first split at about 6" in D, second split followed a month after quite a bit smaller.
    - GBTA ( Entacmaea quadricolor )
    - has split twice. i think it was brought on by my skimmer crapping out and waiting 2 weeks to save enough to get a new euro-reef.

    TANK

    - 120g with 60g sump/fuge with macro, ATO, RDSB, RODI
    - no my clowns aren't interested but i sold one last week to the LFS and within 5 min 3 clowns were fighting over him
    - params: temp 80F, SG 1.026, 2 400W 10k MH

this is the only pic i have here online but if you want me to email you another or you want more info, just ask ( there is a bigger copy in my gallery )

the pumps were of so he is just floating, i've found that the pictures get to blurry with the pumps on.

I'll Try to get better pictures but I don't have the greatest camera.

    1) I have had this anemone for only a couple months. I got it in the hopes that my Ocelaris clowns will host in it - nothing yet though.
    2) It is a purple Long Tentacle Anemone
3)I does tend to disappear undr the gravel now and then but it appears a few hours later. A rather large snail kicked an acro (about 5") oover and it landed on the anemone sqarely. The acro needed to be fragged right away but the anemone was ok after about a week (it lost several of its tentacles but the grew back)

    The tank:
I have had it running for close to 2 years now.
    1) 125 Gal witha 40 gal sump
2)Trying to get my clowns to host it but having trouble (even if I ask nice!) I know they are not the species generally associated with each other in nature but I have heard that they will get together most of the time. My clowns are also captive bred.
3)All of my parameters are normal temp is 78 Deg, salinity is on the low side of normal

    Thanks
    Jer
Its the early bird that gets the worm, but its the second mouse that gets the cheese.

This is one of two Bubble tipped anemomes, that I have in my tank. I've had the tank for three months, which I bought used. According to the previous owner the single anemomes split; I believe the previous owner had the tank for a year. He would have acquired the anemome during that time.. My clown fish, tends to prefer this anemomes to the other.

    80 Galloon Tank & Stand, 250 Jaguer Heater (78 degrees, 01.24 salinity)
    3 Maxi-jet 900 powerhead pumps, Prizm Pro
    Skimmer, Coralife Lighs 10K, 60w, x8
50 lbs liver rock, 2 Bubble Anemomies, 5 Mushroom
Anemomies, 1 Clownfish, 2 Tangs (yellow & Regal)
1 Firefish, 1 Citron Goby, Brittle Star, Sand Star
2 Cleaner shrimp, 2 Emerald crab
