Yellow tang will eat mostly anything. If you feed your tank with mysis shrimp he will go after it and eat it.

What other fish do you have in your tank?

while they will eat pretty much anything, i believe all tangs should be offered some seaweed on a regular basis. this helps to strengthen their immune system and contributes to their all around health.

I have a yellow and it eats really anything. I do suppliment with Spirulina fairly often. I have hair algae hear and there and the yellow does not touch it. I did have macro algae growing but the yellow wiped it out within hours of aclimating him/her.

I would like to know if there is a specific tang that does eat hair algae though.

i think the Tomini / Bristle Tooth has the best odds of eating HA but there are no guaranties.
