My clowns have laid eggs for the first time in two years. They're both incredibly attentive. Interesting to watch and very curious to see if any survive.
from everything that i've heard the clowns will end up eating them unless you take them out and house them in another tank. Hopefully not thou. Good luck
I agree, sorry to burst your bubble,(ha ha)but all the research I've done says that the eggs are transparent with an orange tint and dark centers. The only green bubbles I've ever heard of or seen are algae. But hopefully you'll prove us wrong and have some mutant green clowns!
they are orange in the beginning.. but as the babies grow inside the egg, you start to see the eyes and boby and the color fades to a silver to dark grey color. they will become food unless taken out and fed with the proper food.
research on the net for the proper techniques to raise them if you want to try it out.
i raise clownfishes and they are clownfish babies, the silver color come after the 4th to 5th night, the silver you see is the eyes, the rest of the body becomes transparent, the first 2 nights they are orange but it changes quickly...
by the way Nelson, it is probably not their first nest because clownfishes start with small nest and it gets bigger as they mature, you have a pretty big one and maybe before they were laying their eggs somewhere you couldnt see them, good luck again and keep us posted
