I have never bought any but I would think that unless you are close to them that shipping would be very expensive. Not sure where you are located but a LFS would probably be cheaper.

I have ordered many things from J&L (a few thousand dollars worth) but never rock or livestock. Every order has been great!! Excellent to deal with, fast and a great price. BA has Fiji on for 4.99/lb this week starting today.

Well I stand corrected that is very cheap shipping. Where abouts are you located?

When I got 100 pounds from them it was shipped by plane. Got it the same day but the only downfall was the shipping was something like $200.00. I think it was something like that. Can't really remember thou.

According to the J&L shipping page, the cost to ship to Ottawa is:

    1 box (65lbs): $ 78
    2 boxes (130lbs): $135
    3 boxes (195lbs): $210

This adds about $1/lb to the cost of the LR.

In the past, I have ordered fish and inverts from J&L. Service was excellent, packing was very done and the prodcuts were also very good.

Toniell, are you sure you ordered from J&L? Their lowest shipping rate for lifestock is $55 (for one box of coral). And their cheapest LR (for under 1 box) is $4.59/lb.
