I'm not sure how much they retail for these days but Remora's(pro) are known to have one of the best hangon skimmers in the market.

I have read some good reviews on the deltec. Especially the, (I think it is) MCE-600.

my fission power skimmer rocks. I admit for the first week I had to constantly adjust it. But now it's regular, no modifications needed. Has a huge collection cup and the cup at the bottom has a small plug if you want to attach a hose to a lower container incase you pull too much skim.
I pulled about 4 cups of VERY green goop today. Usually it's like this every day. To the point, I am going to get the rubber hose to attach to the plug drain and drain into a bigger bucket. Cuase it pulls that much skim, and in this way won't have to empty the drain bucket for a few days.

    Skimmer is about 180 US.

well worth it, and awesome sturdy construction.

My tank is only 2 and a half months old, I just put in 60 pounds of rock in 2 weeks ago. I have a constant 20ppm nitrate since my rock was introduced. (before that it was never above 10ppm) Once that rock goes live, my nitrates should reduce very quickly. This goes to show you how good this skimmer is.

With 3 HEAVY feedings aday, and chopped up shrimp for my 2 crabs, 1 large queen conk. I also have 1 maroon clown fish, 2 fire fish, 1 blenny and one hocheni and a baby tang. All in a 90 gal.

And I have been monitoring every day, my nitrates NEVER get past 20ppm. And I don't change my water...ever. I just add chemicals once a week that get stripped from the water from the skimmer.

    I'd go Deltec or Remora.

Biggunsar, you shouldn't have to remove 4 cups of goo daily. Its probebly skimming too liquid. Try to run it a little dryer. If not, you may end up lowering your salinity.

moving.. so temporarily out of SW :b8:
planning next tank, possibly 60x30x20 on 2x plasma.

Could it be skimming a lot due to the heavy feedings?
Resistance is futile, you will be assimilated!

yea but not that much, needs to be run a little more dryer like people said.

also regarding the prizms they are JUNK JMHO. Its rated for more a 20Gal tank not 100 like it says.
