no pics.. but i'm working on plans for a 8x8x3 tank viewable from either 3 or all 4 sides. I find the best shape to be a Cube or near cube shape. Awesome for aquascaping and giving it more depth like diving a shallow reef where you pass stumps of rock and have to swim between them.

moving.. so temporarily out of SW :b8:
planning next tank, possibly 60x30x20 on 2x plasma.

wow 8 x 8 x 3 us a crazy size. id love to see that one day haha

i like cubes too. i too dont have pictures but i seen on reef central that had my ideal size. 48" x 48" x 20" keep it shallow so lights dont have to be as intense. i think viewable from 3 sides is good. the back for overflow is good.

    absolutely chujai love those cubes.
I was over to James place last week ( Dark ) to drill his tank.. and I loved the 30" deep tank. my hand could reach the bottom no problem. While still be deep enough. my 36" is over my arm and shoulder gets into the water all the time, so its shirt off or wet t-shirt all the time.. I may go 30" - 32" next time.

yeah thats what i was thinking too with such a deep tank that you would probably need tongs to go that deep or like you said get all wet.

another solution is DIVE IN. haha witha 8 ft tank that sounds plausable.

well.. I think it would be still too small for me.. i'd make a wake and splash all over the place. I currently use my snorkel and mask for my tank when i'm moving stuff around.. love to watch the fish and corals from above

My dream tank would be a very long tank, 10 to 12 feet long 30-36 in wide for and only 18-20in tall. The lenght would so that the fish and lots of swimming room, the 30-36 in wide would give some nice aquascaping options. I would most likely do rock mounts with lots of open space and with the only being 18-20 tall the light wouldn't have to be intense at all to keep sps.

My dream tank is about the same as what Powder Blue is describing. Very long, between 2-3' wide and 18"-20" tall. I like the long tanks with low heights. Its easier to maintain them.

One summer I had a 33L temp reef setup (48" long) and that was my favorite looking tank so far. I wish it was 5-6 times the longer though.

I just started what I call my '110H Temp' Reef. It's a temp because i'll eventualy move outta this house and take the tank with me in a year or two. The 110 is 30" deep and for me its too much. Liv, you must be tall or have long arms, cause I cant reach the bottom without getting my shoulder in there. I went with that tank because it fit an old stand I had and was in the size range I needed.
