    Blennie for Hair Algae

    Hey,

I was thinking of getting a bicolor blennie and was wondering how good they are for eating hair algae... (if good enough maybe i'll get two)

Two will fight...probably to the death. They normally do not touch hair algae...just filamentous algae.

Try the lawnmower blenny, they do a good job with hair algae. I use a long spined diadema urchin myself, also a great hair algae eater.

    ok, 2 more questions:

Is it safe to keep more than one blennie per tank ? What else are good hair algae eaters ? aside from snails/crabes that are reef safe and wont potentially poison the tank...

To the best of my knowledge it's just one blenny per tank. Someone with more experience with this fish may feel free to correct me, I've just had one midas blenny. I've heard "sea hares" are supposed to be good algae eaters too but I'm not sure if they eat hair algae or not. Might be something to look into though.
