    Rock Anemone

    So here's the question...

What is the life span of a rock anemone in an aquarium?
Do they go through life cycles? Bloom and then shrink for long periods of time?

Here's whats going on. Our RA has been with us since the very beginning so approx. 4 years. He has been doing real well until just recently when he decided to shrink to a very small size, about the size of a dime...yeah real small!?!

    I just don't get it.

Hes been hand fed since day one.
    Our prams haven't budged.
    We do regular water changes.
Everyone else in the tank is doing well and growing exponentially.

    So now what?
    Is he dying?
He looks the same color and texture as always just miniature?!?

So... What do you guys think is going on ?

It could be hiding, or have moved, and what you are seeing is a "baby" after splitting.

how long as it been that small ? days/weeks ?
    how's your lighting ?

beertech is right, could be a clone/baby.

moving.. so temporarily out of SW :b8:
planning next tank, possibly 60x30x20 on 2x plasma.

Unfortunately it is NOT a baby... He is in the same spot its always been.
It's been at least a month since his size change. Before he was about the size of the palm of my hand and was always "pretty" looking. Nothing has changed asides from the size his coloring is still "pretty"

As for the lighting we have the Original BioCube lighting. I was Pretty sure it was good enough for the whole tank as we do not have much coral. We mostly have a few different colonies of polyps and some Fuzzy Mushrooms that our clowns live in !

About a month back we added some candycane corals but the size change had already happened.

I just dont get it because everything else in the tank is doing splendid. It's not like it looks sickly or anything like that hes just real small???
